‘A status’ accreditation recommended for Nepal, Malaysia

Recommended to retain their ‘A status’ accreditation, the ICC will review developments affecting the NHRIs of Malaysia and Nepal in 2010.

Ameerah Haq of Bangladesh, with over three decades of experience with the UN, has taken up her post as the organisation's top envoy to Timor Leste.

Journalists under fire in 2009

Wars and elections constituted the chief threat to journalists in 2009, with 76 killed and 573 arrested, according to a year-end review published by Reporters without Borders.
